OUR MISSION
Celebrate Diversity
Team Blackstar was initially founded in 2014 by six Black skydivers as a sports club to promote skydiving in African-American communities. Today, Team Blackstar skydivers hail from diverse communities throughout the US and from six countries around the world. We are proud of our ethnically diverse membership and are committed to building an inclusive community that celebrates diversity in all forms. Our first goal as an organization is to increase African Diaspora participation in skydiving by sharing our personal experiences, hosting events, partnering with drop-zone owners, non-profit organizations, schools, community and religious groups.
Give back to the community
Part of our ethos is giving back to our communities through partnering with non-profit organizations. We recently conducted our first community outreach event at the Indian River County Boys & Girls Club in Sebastian Florida. We look forward to conducting additional community outreach events.
Build Stronger Relationships
Team Blackstar is committed to mentoring new jumpers, partnering with other skydiving organizations, non-profit organizations, drop zone owners, schools and businesses in order to achieve our mission of promoting skydiving within African-American communities.
